Air Fried  Onion Rings

These air fried onion rings are light and crispy with very little oil. Make a batch with fresh onions and pantry staples in just 30 minutes!

Vidalia Onion | All-Purpose Flour Smoked Paprika | Black Pepper Kosher Salt | Half and Half Egg | Panko Breadcrumbs Olive Oil | Cooking Spray

INGREDIENTS

Cut ends off onion and peel off outer layer. Cut into 1/2" slices and separate into rings.  Set up breading station in 3 shallow bowls. First bowl combine the flour, paprika, pepper, and salt. In the second, whisk together half and half and egg. In the third, panko breadcrumbs, salt, and oil. 

PREPARATION

Dredge each onion ring in the flour mixture, then dip in the egg mixture. Repeat once.  Shake off any excess and coat with breadcrumbs. Layer on a baking sheet as you go. Place in freezer for 10-15 minutes. 

COAT ONIONS

Preheat air fryer to 400°. Lightly spray basket with cooking spray.  Cook the rings in a single layer for 9-11 minutes, working in batches. 

FRY THE ONION RINGS

Once done, add all rings back to the basket and cook for 2 minutes to warm up any that have cooled.  Serve and enjoy!
