INGREDIENTS

Sift flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and sugar. Drop in 3 heaping forkfuls of shortening and blend into the flour mixture until it becomes coarse crumbs. Add buttermilk all at once and stir just until the dry ingredients are moistened.

INSTRUCTIONS

Cook chicken 2 to 3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Remove to a plate. Add minced garlic and 1/2 cup of the white wine to the skillet and stir to deglaze the pan. Add the green beans and the remaining wine and stir.

Simmer the green beans for 5 to 6 minutes over medium heat, until crisp tender. Add 1/2 cup cream and the Dijon mustard, stirring to incorporate. Return chicken to the pan and sprinkle with 1 teaspoon minced rosemary. Continue cooking for 10 to 12 minutes, or until chicken is done.
