Hello, foodies! Welcome to the Life Love and Good Food Monthly Cooking Challenge! This month’s challenge recipe is my Fresh Blueberry Shortcake — the perfect summer dessert!

How to Join the Cooking Challenge

The JUNE cooking challenge recipe is Fresh Blueberry Shortcake!

Make the recipe during June, then return to the recipe post to leave a comment before June 30 (the end of the June challenge) for a chance to win an Amazon $50 gift card.

For a bonus entry, send a picture of what you made to [email protected] and note “cooking challenge” in the subject line.

For another bonus entry, post your recipe photo on Instagram or Facebook and tag @lifeloveandgoodfood.

A winner will be randomly selected and announced at the beginning of July. Bonus: for every entry received, we’ll donate $1 to Cookies for Kids Cancer!

June Challenge Recipe: Fresh Blueberry Shortcake

If you’ve never made shortcakes, now is the time to start! Basically a sweet biscuit, my shortcakes are buttery and flaky and easier to make than you may imagine. Just follow my step-by-step instructions, then be sure to comment on the recipe post and let me know that you made it — that will enter you for a chance to win the Amazon gift card!

Variations and Substitutions

  • If necessary, use frozen blueberries but thaw and drain them first.
  • Replace the blueberries in this recipe with fresh blackberries or raspberries to make another delicious variation.
